---+ Full Cluster Setup This document will go through the setup and management of the BHAM grid cluster from scratch. %TOC% ---++ Setting up the Master Node A single service node is used to run DHCP, PXE boot, Puppet Master and local logging. This is used to control *all* other nodes (through puppet) and so should be kept running at all times. To set this up from scratch, follow these instructions: 1) Install the latest version of SL on a bare metal machine however you want. 2) Install EPEL Repo (additional packages for SL) by doing the following (change for appropriate version of SL): <verbatim> rpm -Uvh http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/epel/5/x86_64/epel-release-5-4.noarch.rpm </verbatim> 3) Now install the tftp and puppet: <verbatim> yum install puppet-server yum install puppet yum install tftp </verbatim> 2) Make sure you've recorded the MAC address and have an IP set up with the machine name (epgpeXX). -- Main.MarkSlater - 28 Sep 2011
