---+ CALid Using the Grid to run CALICE jobs. %TOC% ---++ Simplified Grid Submission Birmingham provides a modifed version of the [[https://www.ep.ph.bham.ac.uk/twiki/bin/view/Computing/Gqsub][gqsub]] tools. These tools allow users to submit jobs to the grid through the familair torque =qsub= interface. More information about these tools can be found [[https://www.ep.ph.bham.ac.uk/twiki/bin/view/Computing/Gqsub][here]]. We support CALICE on both of the Birmingham clusters (the local cluster and on the !BlueBEAR Grid nodes). If no site is specified in the batch script, the gqsub tools will automatically send the job to !BlueBEAR. _This is the recommended behaviour, as we would prefer to run CALICE jobs on !BlueBEAR!_ ---++ Accessing Software The standard ILC and CALICE software have been installed on both of the Birmingham Grid clusters. These were obtained from =lfn:/grid/calice/software= (more information [[https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/CALICE/SoftwareVersions][here]]) and have been installed in =$VO_ILC_SW_DIR= and =$VO_CALICE_SW_DIR= respectively. If a root environment is required, it is possible to set one up by executing the following on a worker node: <verbatim> source $VO_ILC_SW_DIR/initILCSOFT.sh v01-08-01 </verbatim> This particular release of the ILC software will setup root 5.26/00b. ---++ Accessing Data Birmingham supports CALICE on the local storage element. _More information to follow_ -- Main.ChristopherCurtis - 04 Jun 2010
