ACE is a Qt4-powered graphical user interface (GUI) that facilitates the browsing and editing of COOL-managed databases. It is developed using the COOL API exclusively to ensure that all restrictions and conventions are consistent with those required of COOL databases.
ACE, with its simple and uncluttered GUI, enables the user to concurrently browse the contents of multiple folders in one or more COOL databases. Modification of COOL folders is made easy with features like bulk entry, transparent and automatic value type checking, folder field sorting and entry display masks. Highly customisable filters allow for a more focused view of large databases. For much more on ACE, proceed to the Documentation section.
Initially developed to enable the ATLAS Level-1 Calorimeter Trigger collaboration to conveniently browse and easily modify their trigger calibration databases, ACE is now a general-use COOL browser and editor and is released as part of the COOL suite of external utilities.
