Particle Physics Seminar

Date: Wednesday 17th March 2004

Title: Protons in the Prairie - Status and Perspectives of the D0 Experiment

Speaker: Dr Stefan Soldner-Rembold (Manchester)

Abstract
The DO experiment is designed to study high energy proton-antiproton interactions at Fermilab's Tevatron collider in Batavia close to Chicago (USA). A wide variety of physics topics can be studied at the Tevatron: top-quark properties, electroweak precision variables and B physics, as well as searches for the Higgs boson, for Supersymmetry and for other phenomena beyond the Standard Model. In my presentation I will give an introduction into the experiment, followed by a preview of some selected physics highlights for the upcoming spring conferences.

This Particle Physics Seminar will take place in room 103, Physics West, starting at 1415. Tea, coffee and biscuits are served at 1400.
