Jet Vetoing and New Physics

Prof. Jeff Forshaw (Manchester)

Abstract

QCD radiation can be used to explore the colour of new physics at the LHC - jet vetoing in particular proves to be a very useful tool. I will present the salient theory using examples in Higgs and top quark physics and will compare to the recent ATLAS data on jet vetoing in dijet events.
