Detectors for a future high energy Lepton Collider

David Bugg (Birmingham)

Abstract

I will discuss the issues driving the design of the detectors for future high energy lepton colliders such as the ILC and CLIC. The talk will concentrate on the conceptual considerations rather than the details of possible technological choices. In particular I will discuss how the concept of particle flow calorimetry, which can give unprecedented jet energy reconstruction, drives the overall design of the detector.
