Searches for New Physics with long-lived particles at ATLAS

Nick Barlow(Cambridge University)

Abstract

Several new physics models predict the existence of massive, long-lived particles. Such particles may be produced at the LHC, and could give rise to unusual and distinctive experimental signatures. This seminar describes how the various detector technologies in the ATLAS experiment can be exploited to identify such signatures, and summarises recent long-lived particle search results from ATLAS.
